This is the 2nd Android powered phone I have by HTC. It's a completely difference experience when compared to the Hero. And in my opinion, is what 'powerful' mobile phones should be. It's extremely fast (which makes everything not just bearable, but they way it should be), intuitive to use, and with the android market well, a snap to load things you want!
The screen is the selling point to me. I've been asking why it's taken so long for something like this to come out. Next the processor is a dream. Battery life is about a working day for me. But you'll need to carry a charger on you for sure. Not having a physical keyboard isn't a problem with this phone because of its screen size! And for the time I used it, I didn't find it necessary to root the phone simply because everything I wanted to do with it, it could already do (with programs installed of course!).
What's nice about this particular phone is the 8GB SD card that comes with it! Add to that it comes with dual flash LEDs (which double as a flash light!) and it's a pretty good phone out of the box. Though, unlike the Mogul that came with a headset, carrying pouch, extra stylus and adapter (for using the usb headset AND charging at the same time).
The Samusung Epic will be out soon... it's like an Evo but with a physical keyboard. That might take the Evo's crown, but HTC is hard to beat.
